Introduction: Subacute thyroiditis (SAT) is an acute inflammatory disorder which can rarely present as pyrexia of unknown origin without other symptoms. Diffuse thyroid heterogeneity, focal hypoechoic areas and decreased/normal gland vascularity are the most common ultrasound findings of SAT.
